Cortag Tools USA
30 Years of Achievements A story built by many hands, the courage to innovate, and hard work. This is how the 30-year journey of Cortag can be summed up—a company founded in 1995 and headquartered in Mogi Mirim, São Paulo, Brazil. Since the production of its first manual tile cutter, the HD-500, the company has demonstrated a strong commitment to producing and delivering, above all, quality. With solid roots and a great desire to make a difference in people’s lives, the brand — a specialist and national leader in manual tile cutters for porcelain floors and leveling systems — combines a keen eye for every step of the production process with the boldness to innovate without constraints. It understands that success comes from innovation and the inspiration to do things differently and better. Achieving this requires more than massive investments and constant structural updates. It is essential to believe that it is possible to evolve with each step and to challenge one’s own limits, always with responsibility and planning. Each award won, each new solution embraced by the market, each expansion of our manufacturing plant — now covering more than 530,000 ft2— and each new certification achieved are milestones that motivate us to continue growing even further. More people joining the team, which now has nearly 1,000 employees, more partnerships being established, and more construction workers trusting in pioneering national technology, currently present in over 45 countries. Growth is the natural consequence of doing things well, acting with respect, and focusing not only on the destination but also on the journey itself—adopting sustainable practices in harmony with the environment. It is in this spirit, and with gratitude for everything Cortag has already achieved, that we celebrate the 30th anniversary of a journey made by all of us. With you, we are building the world.
Cor.Sync
Cor.Sync is a solution for fast and accurate heart attack diagnosis at the hospital emergency care. Myocardial infarction, also known as heart attack, is one of the biggest causes of death around the world. But its diagnosis requires, along with electrocardiogram, a blood test to measure a biomarker, called troponin. Nowadays it takes from 1 to 5 hours to measure troponin at laboratories, and half of the deaths by infarction happens inside hospital, while the patient is waiting for these results. Cor.Sync is a point of care testing platform, with a desktop device and biosensors, capable of measuring troponin in just 8 minutes with the same accuracy and price as a laboratory test.
Celluris
Celluris is the first Latin American company developing personalized treatment for cancer patients through CAR-T immunotherapy for Solid Tumors. This technique is based on the modification of the patient’s cells into recognizing the tumor as a target, fighting it accurately. Celluris’ novel solution, RfuCAR, was engineering to respond to some challenges in the field. RfuCAR is a bispecific receptor CAR, composed by an antigen binding domain and another domain that binds to an extracellular molecule from tumoral microenvironment. Therefore, RfuCAR can modulate the tumoral microenvironment by trapping an extracellular molecule, reducing inhibitory signaling and improving the CAR anti-tumoral function. In addition, our platform encompasses a switch on/off/modulation system to control toxicity, so with administration of small peptides that will block CAR epitopes, it will be possible to minimize the effects of CRS and neurotoxicity, very common in patients treated with CAR-T therapy. Our first targets will be lung, pancreatic and mesothelioma tumors, we already obtained some encouraging in vitro data, showing almost 30% of tumoral epithelial cells killing. With P&D located in São Paulo, Brazil, and with office in US, Celluris was co-founded by Yechiel Stern and Patricia Rozenchan.
