About Homegrown Family Foods Renwood Mills is currently located in Newton, NC. We proudly employ about 100 people from in and around the local community. We are a milling facility that grinds wheat and corn as well as a producer of many types of bakery mixes. We make simple southern comfort food that you have come to love. That’s why we have trademarked the phrase – We Make Delicious Easy™. The company was founded in 1935 by G.D. Drum when he purchased what was then known as Maiden Flour Mills and the business has been in continuous operation ever since.In 1935 we were milling less than 20,000 pounds of flour per day. Today our flour milling capacity has evolved into 750,000 lbs. per day. We also have a 12-ton corn mill for grinding corn. We primarily mill “Soft Red Winter Wheat” which is ideal for making light and fluffy biscuits, cakes, crackers and cookies. We also grind both white and yellow corn meal for excellent cornbread, corn muffins and for baking and coating. We have a very diverse customer base including many large commercial bakeries, local and national restaurant chains, foodservice distributors as well grocery stores and alternate /dollar store channels throughout the United States.
