Material processing including sawing, sanding, drying, shredding, granulating and pelletizing can often cause sparks, which are typically the ignition source for fires and explosions in dust collectors and air filtration equipment. The GreCon spark detection system is designed to detect these hazards and extinguish sparks in the pneumatic conveying system before they reach dust collectors or storage bins. Infrared sensors detect spark, embers or hot particles transported through ductwork to a dust collector, and an extinguishing device is then triggered to effectively extinguish the spark within milliseconds.
