The Got to Be NC Pavilion in the busy South Hall will feature eight of our members; Homegrown Family Foods, Tidewater Grain Co., Spicewalla, Hickory Nut Gap Meats, DePalo Foods, Hampton Farms Peanuts, Burch farms and Garner Foods. Homegrown Family Foods sources locally grown whole wheat and corn to mill a variety of specialty mixes and grits, flour and cornmeal. They have been consistently milling roughly 800 million pounds of flour every week. The flour is shipped to grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, and food manufacturing facilities all across the country. Tidewater Gain Co. specializes in Carolina Gold rice on their coastal farm in Oriental and is a totally sustainable family and farmer owned. This is the first NC rice farmer in over 120 years, to grow Carolina Gold Rice, their flagship product. Tidewater grows and mills their rice on the farm and offer current harvest, GMO free white and brown rice as well as middlins or rice grits, rice flour and a specialty long-grain variety of Carolina Gold Rice called Santee Gold to both retail and wholesale customers. Spicewalla sources directly from quality suppliers in small quantities, anywhere from twenty-five to one hundred pounds in a delivery. This method of buying and receiving smaller shipments ensures the freshness of the product not only for our benefit, but for the benefit of our customers. Hampton has carefully cultivated relationships with farmers to ensure their products’ quality from seed to shelf. Headquartered in Severn, North Carolina, acquisition by Hampton Farms has allowed for increased quality and variety.
