About The Hourglass Foundation Our mission at The Hourglass Foundation is to empower first-generation, low income, and diversely underrepresented students to achieve a life of financial stability and independence through scholarship opportunities that support educational pursuits in the skilled trades. Specifically, trade school or community college programs with a focus on Auto Tech, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Construction, or similar. We understand that ‘There is more than one path to an education,’ and that attending a traditional four-year college is not always the right fit, nor the most affordably realistic option for many graduating high school students. Through our scholarship programs we are not only helping underserved students achieve their educational pursuits and career goals, but also raising awareness to the skilled trades as a viable and lucrative career paths. In addition, we hope to help reduce the skilled trades workforce shortage that is currently having a big impact on both businesses and consumers alike. By investing in educating the next generation of auto tech and skilled trades professionals, we are helping deserving young adults attain hands-on experience and trade-specific skill sets that lead to solid employment opportunities, successful career paths, and the ability to achieve their dreams.
