About Tanaka Kikinzoku International (America), Inc. TANAKA Precious Metals started life in 1885 as a money exchange business dealing with precious metals in Tokyo. From that time, the company has supported the growth of society through the provision of industrial products made from precious metals. In 1889, TANAKA succeeded in commercially manufacturing Japan's first platinum filament for light bulbs. Some time later, it started manufacturing such things as electric contact points for telecommunications and crossbar contacts for telephone switchboards.
