About Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children Sunshine Cottage School: A Listening and Spoken Language School for Children with Hearing Impairment. Sunshine Cottage School is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. We honor our founder's wishes and dreams as we strive to serve families and children on their journey toward listening and spoken language. We have highly qualified teachers, advisors, audiologists, and speech-language pathologists as a cohesive team for our families and their children. We strive for excellence and implement state-of-the-art, research-based methodologies to teach children with hearing loss to listen and speak with confidence within their families and communities.
