About

About Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) Established in 1997, the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) is Singapore’s national institute for ophthalmic and vision research. As the research arm of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), SERI is affiliated with the National University of Singapore and Duke NUS Medical School. Over two decades, SERI has grown from five staff to more than 244 personnel, supported by over 260 adjunct faculty members, making it the largest eye research institute in the Asia Pacific. To date, SERI has published 6,053 peer reviewed papers, secured S$482 million in competitive research funding, trained over 235 graduate students, and received 1,431 awards and 188 patents. Through extensive local and international collaborations, SERI’s research has translated into meaningful patient outcomes and major advances in eye care. Today, SERI is widely recognized as a leading centre for high quality, translational eye research in Asia.
