About Settima Settima was established in 1978. The company started serving people’s vertical mobility with high-tech three-screw pump technology for the lifts & elevators industry. Settima products are capable of minimizing noise emissions and pulsations in hydraulic circuits. In 2001 Settima invented and patented a new range of helical rotor external gear pumps which became famous with the trademark Continuum®. It was the first no-noise and no-vibrations hydraulic pump for high-pressure and high-speed applications. Continuum® pump soon became the benchmark in key industrial and mobile EV applications. In 2005, Settima pushed innovation further by patenting and introducing a bilateral balancing system which transformed the Continuum® pump into the world’s first truly bidirectional hydraulic machine —without compromising on silence or eliminating pulsations. The BiDi Continuum® delivers ultra-quiet, vibration-free operation in both flow directions, ensuring unmatched flexibility and reliability. A further game-changing invention was the hydraulic machine called 4Q®Continuum®. It was patented in 2022, it runs on 4 quadrants with no noise, no pulsations and is energy regenerative. This has opened new frontiers for energy regenerative hydraulic circuits. Another important invention was the SpinRel® rare-earths free synchronous electric motor. The company recently announced a new e-mobility era for electro-hydraulics thanks to the SpinRel® electric motor technology, the Continuum® and 4Q®Continuum® hydraulics. This marks a significant step in the international energy transition. They are designed for next generation EV/HEV industrial vehicles like buses, trucks, vocational vehicles, school buses, terminal trucks, refuse trucks and last-mile delivery vehicles. “No more magnets, no more rare-earths, no more dependance, no more noise and pollution, no more limits” are the distinctive features.
