About

About SafeGauge About SafeGauge Pty Ltd. SafeGauge has an innovative focus on developing new technology designed to remove technicians from the ‘line of fire’ when live testing heavy mobile plant machinery in heavy industries, such mining, defence, construction, agriculture and oil & gas. Our goal is to eliminate live work (ELW) and thereby minimise the chances of crush and fluid injection injuries, whilst conducting necessary pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance duties. To this end, we’ve developed a range of specialist wireless testing solutions that allow workers to safely maintain heavy machinery from a safe distance (up to 100m/328ft). Our multi-award winning SafeTest range of pressure transducers (PT Series), dial indicators (DI Series) and tachometers (TM Series) are the go-to solutions for heavy industry applications. When combined with the SafeGauge Wireless MultiTool, maintenance technicians can now take multiple readings from any combination of SafeTest products simultaneously – minimising machine downtime and delivering significant productivity gains. SafeGauge founder and Managing Director, Luke Dawson, routinely worked on heavy-machinery during his time as a heavy plant mechanic on multiple Australian mine-sites. Concerned by the level of risk exposure, he began working on developing a range of wireless testing solutions to help eliminate live work on site. Luke’s passion for safety, performance and efficiency has been the driving force behind what SafeGauge is today – earning recognition from multiple industry bodies, including winning the 2022 NSW Mining Small Business of the Year, the 2022 Good Design Awards, the 2022 HMA (Hunter Manufacturing Awards) Award for Excellence in Product Design, and the APAC Insider Award for Safety Tech Innovation of the Year 2022. Today, SafeGauge remains proudly Australian-owned, with sales in over 15 countries and backed by a global distribution network that promotes and supports safer working practices in heavy industry sectors all around the world. SafeGauge is redefining how heavy machinery is tested by removing technicians from the line of fire with our advanced wireless testing tools. We help heavy-industry customers avoid LTIs, reduce MTTR and increase MTBF across mining, rail, construction and defence. Founded in 2019 by heavy plant mechanic Luke Dawson, SafeGauge develops innovative tooling such as Wireless Pressure Transducers, Dial Indicators, Tachometers, Push Rods, Laser Displacement Sensors and Inspection Cameras. With our free mobile app or MultiTool Pro tablet, users can connect multiple sensors at once for safer, smarter testing. Australian-owned and trusted in 15+ countries, SafeGauge is committed to improving safety and efficiency worldwide. SafeGauge designs wireless testing tools that keep technicians out of harm’s way when testing live machinery. Testing live equipment can expose maintenance teams to serious risks such as fluid injection and crush injuries. SafeGauge removes technicians from the danger zone by allowing pressure, movement, and machine performance to be measured wirelessly from up to 328ft (100m) away, without hoses, cables, or hands near live systems. Founded by heavy plant mechanic Luke Dawson, SafeGauge develops practical, field-tested solutions built for real maintenance environments. Each tool connects seamlessly to the SafeGauge mobile app or MultiTool Pro tablet, enabling multiple sensors to be monitored live and simultaneously from a safe distance. Wireless Pressure Transducers The SafeGauge Pressure Transducer allows technicians to safely and efficiently monitor high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems up to 100m (328ft) away. Use for hydraulic pressure testing, engine commissioning, oil and boost pressure, and air conditioning system testing. Wireless Dial Indicators The SafeGauge Dial Indicator is designed to remotely measure clearances, tolerances and wear on machine components safely and efficiently – out of the line of fire. Capable of measuring up to 10mm (0.39inch) of displacement with an accuracy of 0.01mm (0.0004inch) with wireless connectivity of up to 100m (328ft) away. Wireless Tachometers The SafeGauge Tachometer enables complete wireless measurement of RPM removing technicians from the live work. This tool has been proven successful for fans, pumps, drill heads and other rotating machinery components. Wireless Push Rods The SafeGauge Push Rod provides technicians with a way to get displacement measurements quickly and safely between two fixed points. Designed for measuring ball joints, lateral movement in pins and bearings, and other applications where a Dial Indicator is less suited. Wireless Laser Displacement Sensors The SafeGauge Laser Displacement enables completely wireless non-contact measurement of moving parts, removing technicians from the live work area while measuring the wear in machinery components such as slew rings, ball joints and pins. Wireless Inspection Cameras This wireless camera gives you a second set of eyes on components in crush-risk and confined spaces, all from up to 50m (164ft) away. Whether you’re inspecting engine bays, attaching dozer blades, working with forklifts, or working with overhead cranes, the SafeGauge Inspection Camera helps you see exactly what you’re doing without putting yourself or your team in harm’s way. SafeSwitches The SafeSwitch lets you remotely and wirelessly change pump positions during hydraulic tune-ups on Liebherr excavators*, without running long cables back to the cab. Connecting directly to the X104 and X105 connectors, the SafeSwitch pairs with the MultiTool Pro, which acts as a wireless remote so pump positions can be switched from a safe distance. Widely adopted across the global mining industry, SafeGauge helps teams eliminate live work, reduce downtime, and make safer, smarter maintenance decisions.
