About Queen's University, Mining Department The Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining at Queen's University holds a significant position in the Canadian mineral industry, and is currently the largest mining school in Canada and one of the largest in the world. Graduates are involved in all facets of the Canadian mineral industry and can be found in most major mining operations throughout the world.
