As the undisputed industry leader, many of our laser processing services are unique techniques offered only by Preco: • Laser Scoring for Consumer Convenience (AcuTear®) is a process of utilizing a focused spot of energy to remove material to a specified depth, thus providing easy open/easy tear flexible packaging while maintaining the strength and barrier properties. • Laser Perforating for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (AcuBreathe®) is a process of generating a series of small through holes to extend the shelf life in fresh-cut produce. Laser Perforating (AcuBreath®) is also used in burst protection applications when changes in air pressure are a concern. • Laser Scoring for Microwave Venting (AcuVent®) is used to produce controlled depth laser score segments into flexible packaging. These laser score segments (vents) are weakened areas of the material and when placed into a microwave the steam generated from within the package bursts through the vents, automatically ventilating the package for a perfect microwave product.
