About
About PLABiologics Co., Ltd. THE NEW GIFT FOR HUMANITY PLABiologics hopes to bring fundamental happiness to humanity from birth to better aging by developing placenta-based therapeutics. Based on the results of many projects over the past 20 years, our research has focused on the useful ingredients in the placenta and the therapeutic potential of placenta-derived stem cells. Our findings show markers and mechanisms of various degenerative diseases developing in reproductive, ocular, and liver tissues. PLABiologics’ “PLA” stands for the placenta, a vital organ for birth, and “Biologics” represents our research to develop placenta-based therapies. In addition, PLABiologics represents Korea’s one and only Placenta Research Laboratory (PRL, CHA University), also known as the PLAB, which has been run by the CEO since 2006. PLABiologics’ Business Model 1) Cell Therapy : Next-generation functionally enhanced mesenchymal stem cell-based therapies - UNIPla®-F: For treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) - UNIPla®-E: For treatment of macular degeneration (MD) - SUNIPla®-M: For treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) 2) Cell Products - Functionally enhanced human placenta derived mesenchymal stem cells for research use 3) CRO Service : - Generation of functionally enhanced mesenchymal stem cell line - Characterization and efficacy evaluation for functionally enhanced stem cells About PLABiologics Co., Ltd. Based on the results of numerous projects over the past 20 years, our research has focused on the valuable ingredients in the placenta and the therapeutic potential of placenta-derived stem cells. Our findings have revealed markers and mechanisms of various degenerative diseases occurring in reproductive, ocular, and liver tissues. PLABiologics’ “PLA” refers to the placenta – a vital organ for birth, and “Biologics” refers to our dedicated research in developing placenta-based therapies. In addition, PLABiologics represents Korea’s one and only Placenta Research Laboratory (PRL, CHA University), also known as the PLAB, which has been run by the CEO since 2006. The placenta is a temporary and special organ that only exists during pregnancy and serves as the source of fetal cells. This feto-maternal organ is necessary for the fetus' growth. By providing oxygen and nutrients, controlling gene expression, hormone secretion, and the maternal immune system—all of which are vital for fetal growth—the placenta plays a critical role in every stage of fetal development. Our commitment to the subject has resulted in the discovery of the biological value of the placenta, which was usually discarded after childbirth. Additionally, our studies have published a significant number of noteworthy articles in journals on a national and worldwide level, as well as patents and clinical trials. We are developing placenta-based therapeutics in the fields of infertility, liver and ophthalmology. Based on our cutting-edge technology and professionalism, PLABiologics aims to deliver the most natural type of medicine as an alternative to chemical therapy. More and more unsolved biological questions are rising due to the rapid progression of pollution and an aging population. We PLABiologics can contribute to a healthier and more promising future for humanity.
