About
About PILOT NAB PILOT is a coalition of innovators, educators and advocates dedicated to advancing broadcast technology and cultivating new media opportunities. PILOT propels broadcast television and radio into the future. It provides a platform for innovation, an engine for incubation, a venue for testing new technologies and a forum for broadcaster education. The NAB PILOT booth will show the following ATSC 3.0 demonstrations:Broadcast Positioning System: An eLORAN transmitter 300 miles away will deliver reference time to a BPS-enabled Las Vegas ATSC 3.0 TV station which will in turn broadcast that time to a BPS receiver in the PILOT booth. The demonstration will show that the BPS+eLORAN time is comparable in accuracy and stability to GPS time. .PILOT has partnered with Sinclair Broadcast Group and UrsaNav to mount this demo. NEXTGEN TV apps: Students from Howard University, the University of Missouri and the University of Minnesota will show NEXTGEN TV applications they developed through the PILOT NextGen TV Fellowship program, with additional support from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
