Southern Nevada has a strong backbone of biotech research through the region’s higher education institutions, including UNLV, a R1 research university, but also Touro University and Roseman University of Health Sciences. Recently named the best city in America for pre-IPO startups, the region also has a burgeoning tech scene, perfect for a biotech startup. Between 2018-2023, six organizations in Southern Nevada received 101 research grants from the National Institutes of Health, totaling $67 million. UNLV is a R1 research institution, with Roseman University offering 64k square feet of state-of-the-art research labs, including 50k square feet of wet lab space.
