About McCourt Construction Company McCourt Construction is a large, comprehensive General Contractor headquartered in Boston, MA. Since our founding in 1893, we have focused on building the Northeast’s most complex civil projects. McCourt’s Energy Division has performed extensive gas and electric work for multiple utilities, municipalities, institutions, and private developments, and has never left a job incomplete or been asked to leave a job by an owner. McCourt has extensive experience in the design and construction of electrical substations. In the past 5 years, we have built new, ground-up substations for National Grid, Eversource, Massport, and the MBTA. In addition, we have renovated or expanded dozens of substations for National Grid, Eversource, the MBTA, MassPort, and several smaller municipal utilities. With over 133 years of managing construction projects, we have built a book of business unmatched in the Northeast and beyond. We pride ourselves on working for New England’s most demanding clients, ranging from the Federal Government to state transportation agencies, gas & electric utilities, and the world’s elite universities and hospitals. Dedicated to building the Northeast, our team comprises hundreds of skilled craft employees backed by 90+ salaried staff. Our fleet of equipment, valued at tens of millions of dollars and consisting of fully owned machinery, is diligently maintained by our mechanics at our Boston maintenance facility.
