About FurZapper FurZapper is the original pet hair and fur remover for laundry. Invented by Michael Sweigart, a pet parent frustrated with fur-covered clothes, FurZapper uses a simple, reusable design to lift pet hair from fabrics in the washer and dryer. It helps pet owners save time, reduce waste, and keep clothes clean without chemicals or adhesives. He developed a prototype using a silicone-based compound with strong adhesion, hoping that fur, dander, and lint would be drawn away from laundry and toward the product. He tested it by simply placing the product—later named FurZapper—in the washing machine along with clothing and bedding covered in pet fur and dander. When the cycle was complete, he had a load of clean, fur-free laundry!
