About

About Fluidiconic Biotechnology 1. Company Name: Fluidiconic Biotechnology Co., Ltd. 2. Company Origins: Through years of developing anticancer drugs and researching the tumor microenvironment, we have come to deeply understand the numerous limitations of current preclinical evaluation methods—especially in the development of immunotherapies. While mouse models remain the best available option, they face challenges such as high variability, time consumption, and high costs. Coupled with increasing ethical concerns, the acceptability of animal testing continues to decline each year. The pharmaceutical industry urgently needs an alternative solution that combines accuracy, efficiency, and ethical responsibility. As a result, we decided to develop MedSelect—an innovative platform that integrates dynamic 3D culture, simulation of tumor heterogeneity, and immune cell co-culture and analysis. This platform aims to provide a faster, more reliable, and humane tool for the development of next-generation cancer therapies. 3. Vision for Development: Fluidiconic vision is to become a key developer of next-generation preclinical efficacy evaluation models in the global anticancer drug development field. Centered around the MedSelect brand, we aim to build a comprehensive research platform that integrates microfluidic technology, personalized models, drug databases, and automated analytical technologies. In the foreseeable future, we aspire to: a. Reduce the reliance on animal experiments by becoming a standard technology for preclinical efficacy validation b. Support pharmaceutical companies in accelerating the development of next-generation immunotherapies, cell therapies, and gene therapies c. Assist physicians in improving the accuracy of treatment decisions, thereby realizing truly patient-centric personalized cancer therapy 4. History of Innovation: Driven by the mission to make drug development easier and more accurate. Our technology originates from academic research conducted by our founding team at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. The technology focuses on tumor microenvironment simulation and immunotherapeutic efficacy analysis. The core results have been published in two representative academic journals: “Ex Vivo Evaluation of Combination Immunotherapy Using Tumor‐Microenvironment‐on‐Chip” and “Real-time and regional analysis of the efficacy of anticancer drugs in a patient-derived intratumoral heterogeneous tumor microenvironment.” These studies form the scientific foundation of the MedSelect technology platform. They were the first to demonstrate that through dynamic culture and the construction of tumor heterogeneity, it is possible to accurately simulate immune-tumor interactions ex vivo and successfully predict therapeutic response trends. Building upon these academic achievements, we actively pushed for commercialization and physical platform development, achieving several important milestones along our entrepreneurial journey: a. Awarded the Boehringer Ingelheim Biotech Startup Unicorn Prize, recognizing our potential to drive innovation in anticancer drug development b. Received the National Innovation Award – Academic Startup Category, acknowledging our contributions bridging academic research and translational application c. Selected for SPARK Taiwan, NSTC Germination Program, and MOEA Value Creation Program, and received multiple innovation grants from government agencies, serving as critical early-stage funding and commercialization accelerators These milestones represent our progress from laboratory research to demonstrating market value. Looking ahead, we will continue to expand the depth and scope of our technology while investing in foundational research to ensure Fluidiconic pivotal role in advancing drug development.
