About
About FASTSEWN by Mikkelsen Innovation FASTSEWN ApS was developed to automate the last manual step for textile sewn goods production with its innovative conveyor deviation automation technology. Founded in 2021, the company is solving the last major industry bottleneck: the lack of full automation in textile sewing processes across multiple industries. Today’s norm is automated design through print and cut, followed by manual or, at best, semi-automated sewing. Usually, sewing requires multiple personnel, or textiles that are carefully placed in frames, with the pattern then moved robotically under the needle. Neither methodology has been able to carry out efficient automation. FASTSEWN presents a patented platform that automates flat sewing and cutting of textiles (backlit sign graphics, pillowcase wraps, airbags, home décor, furniture, car seats, industrial bags and more) directly from one to multiple layers and rolls. With only 1% of the worlds seamsters remaining in the West (rest 99% in developing countries) - and rapidly decreasing in numbers - this acute situation requires sewing processes to be successfully automated for growth. Automation also improves quality, reduces shipping times, eliminates overstocking and waste, and thereby reduces costs so that manufacturers can compete with low-wage labor. FASTSEWN’s patented and patent-pending Movable Cavity Technology (MCT™) integrates seamlessly with most wide format printers and CNC cutting systems, such as the ones the FASTSEWN team has implemented since 2000, thus enabling efficient automated sewing, cutting, and handling of fabrics. At Printing United 2025, FASTSEWN introduced its third prototype automated sewing and cutting solution to the USA. This year, at Printing United 2026, we will be demonstrating the fully operating 3.3 m × 3.3 m production system. Come see this new technology in action at booth C942!
