In this context, the United States represents a key market for regional players operating in the life sciences sector, particularly in the areas of gene and cell therapies, molecular diagnostics, and digital health. Clust-ER Health and its stakeholders are actively involved in the development of projects with strong scientific and entrepreneurial impact, including innovative approaches to personalized medicine, advanced monitoring devices, and biomaterials for tissue regeneration. These technologies, born from the synergy between research and industry, represent the most advanced frontier of biomedical innovation. To support this ecosystem, the project aims to strengthen the existing centers of expertise in the Region, including the Tecnopoles, research centers, and IRCCSs, with the goal of creating a "backbone" of hubs specialized in various areas of biotechnology. The initiative is part of a broader framework for strengthening the innovation ecosystem, with an impact not only at the regional level but also at the European level, in line with European programming strategies. The objective is to increase the capacity of regional stakeholders to develop collaborative projects among universities, businesses, and healthcare facilities, fostering the creation of advanced research infrastructures that can serve as Hubs and Centers of Excellence for biotechnology. A key element of the project is the attraction of private investments, combining them with European and regional funding instruments. The valorization of innovations developed within the BioHubs will be supported by targeted networking and promotion activities, fostering dialogue between the research world and investors. To this end, the project plans to organize B2B meetings, networking events, and working groups to facilitate collaborations between research and industry. Furthermore, specialized consulting services will be structured for startups and research teams, with the aim of strengthening their business models and improving their appeal to investors and venture capitalists. Another pillar of the project is a capacity building and training program, aimed at supporting startups and researchers in developing strategic, business, and operational skills in the biotech sector. The training program, which integrates mentoring and coaching sessions, will provide concrete tools to tackle challenges related to pharmaceutical regulation, intellectual property, and fundraising. The goal is to encourage the emergence of new entrepreneurial ventures and to strengthen the skills of those working in the biotechnology sector, thereby contributing to the growth of a competitive and cutting-edge ecosystem. To give visibility to the most promising initiatives, Clust-ER Health will present a selection of the best projects from its members and stakeholders, currently at various stages of development, at the BIO International Convention. Participation in the event represents an important opportunity to establish new collaborations with companies, incubators, and venture capitalists, as well as with universities, hospitals, and research centers, promoting the internationalization of regional excellence in the biotech sector.
