About Cancer Center at Illinois The Cancer Center at Illinois (CCIL) leverages the unique strengths of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in engineering and science to inspire groundbreaking cancer research that transforms cancer detection and treatment for the benefit of all. Led by Phillip and Ann Sharp Director Rohit Bhargava, the CCIL unites over 125 faculty members across two complementary research programs (Cancer Engineering and Biological Systems and Cancer Technology and Data Science) with a shared goal to accelerate and move discoveries to clinical use.
