About Canada North Environmental Services Canada North Environmental Services (CanNorth) provides a full range of environmental services and is 100% Indigenous owned by the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, one of the largest bands in Canada. They provide high quality, cost effective environmental services and since 1997 have completed over 5,000 projects, both nationally and internationally. Their clients include the world’s largest mining and oil companies, and also many government corporations and agencies. CanNorth offers the technical skills and knowledge to deliver solutions for managing environmental risk in ways that benefit their clients, protect the environment, satisfy regulatory requirements, as well as supporting local communities through employment, training, and economic benefits. They provide a full range of environmental services through their aquatic, terrestrial, risk assessment, heritage and archaeology, hydrology, community, and geomatics divisions. Projects are undertaken using defensible study design, state-of-the-art technology for analyses, evaluation, and problem solving, and emphasize local Indigenous participation. CanNorth has developed and implemented strong quality, environment, and safety management systems that meet or exceed international standards. In fact, CanNorth is the only Indigenous owned consulting company in the world to obtain ISO 9001 (international standard for quality management), ISO 14001 (international standard for environmental stewardship and management), and ISO 45001 (international standard for occupational health and safety) certifications.
