About Blue Whale Materials LLC Blue Whale Materials (BWM) is a lithium-ion battery (LiB) recycling company. Our proprietary technology safely discharges LiBs – from end-of-life consumer to EV batteries and production scrap – and responsibly reclaims critical minerals into a premium Blacksand™ product for the growing electrified economy. Our commercially validated process, with an overall metal recovery rate of 98%, supports supply chain readiness through a streamlined closed-loop service that eliminates waste and streamlines logistics. BWM’s flagship commercial pre-processing facility commissions operations in Bartlesville, OK in early 2025. Subsidiary BW Energy & Innovation (BWE&I) provides testing and evaluation services for numerous battery chemistries. With +700 test channels, BWE&I can customize testing requirements, including performance assessment, thermal cycling, aging analysis, and abuse and safety testing. BWE&I’s team brings +100 years of experience, offering validation planning, emergency response standards, project management, and consulting. New training courses offered through BWE&I ETC (Education, Training, and Consulting).
