While universal design is often seen in architecture and technology, BILLY brings this approach into everyday footwear—creating shoes that are both practical and modern. Simply put, BILLY Footwear is Fit for Everyone. Putting on shoes can be challenging—whether due to mobility needs, braces, limited hand strength, or just the everyday rush. BILLY Footwear solves this with thoughtful design and multiple easy-on options. Our classic full-wrap zipper runs along the side and around the toe, allowing the shoe to open wide and fold over. This creates a clear, unobstructed entry so the foot can be placed directly onto the footbed. Then, with a simple zip, the shoe closes securely—no forcing, no frustration. In addition to the full-wrap design, we offer styles like our Double Zip (DZ) and short-wrap zipper (GOAT) options to meet a variety of needs and preferences. The inspiration behind BILLY Footwear is deeply personal. After a spinal cord injury left him with limited mobility and hand function, Billy struggled to find shoes he could put on independently. What started as a solution to his own challenge grew into something much bigger—a mission to create footwear that works for everyone.
