About

About ABIFISA ABIFISA, the Brazilian Association of Companies in the Herbal Medicines, Food Supplement, and Health Promotion Sector, represents a diverse group of 31 national and international companies dedicated to advancing these fields. With a mission to advocate for the collective and individual interests of its members, ABIFISA aims to be a leading reference among associations in these sectors, upholding values such as ethics, transparency, impartiality, commitment, and corporate and social responsibility. ABIFISA acts in defense of the interests of its members, representing them before the government, entities, national and international associations, the press, and the general population. It seeks to strengthen these industries by supporting the development and launch of innovative products and technological solutions, fostering an environment of integration and collaboration among stakeholders in the production chain, striving to ensure product quality, safety, and effectiveness, and enhancing the economic potential of Brazilian biodiversity products. The association is recognized for its technical collaboration with the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) through the work of its specialized Working Groups. These groups provide a platform for in-depth discussion and significant contributions to regulatory agendas, which enhance the collaboration with Anvisa. ABIFISA actively participates in initiatives such as the Phyto Coalition Group, regulatory discussions with Anvisa, the Medicines Reverse Logistics Council, and efforts to combat fraud in the natural products e-commerce sector. Additionally, it is involved in the Intellectual Property Business Coalition and the CNI biodiversity network and takes part in Mercosur meetings related to the food sector. ABIFISA also engages in public articulations with other entities, supporting events, workshops, and meetings, and organizes educational seminars on topics such as ethnobotanical and ethnopharmacological knowledge and regulatory updates on herbal medicines.
