Custom Finishers, Inc.

HISTORY Over four decades ago, CFI was established by three visionaries well-versed in wood panel processing and chemical coatings. Originally focused on supplying the growing furniture industry around High Point, North Carolina, the company quickly expanded its footprint. Despite challenges from imported goods leading to a decline in the residential wood furniture sector, CFI adapted. Under new ownership led by Chris Wilkins, CFI has undergone significant transformations. With multiple plants, the company now boasts higher volume outputs and has diversified into supplying cut-to-size parts for displays and fixtures. The manufacturing processes and raw materials have seamlessly transitioned, allowing CFI to thrive in these new markets. Incorporating cutting-edge technology, such as Miltec in UV drying and GSE paint dispensing, CFI has elevated its capabilities. The addition of CNC machining, custom paint and UV flat line coatings, edgebanding, finishing, lithographic mounting, laser cutting, and engineering services has further positioned CFI as an industry leader. Today, the company not only meets the demands of furniture manufacturing but has successfully penetrated diverse sectors. With a focus on prototyping and serving as an OEM for furniture and POP, CFI delivers exceptional quality and efficiency. The commitment to innovation is evident in the incorporation of Miltec technology for UV drying and GSE paint dispensing, ensuring top-notch finishes and access to millions of color combinations. Under Chris Wilkins’ leadership, CFI remains at the forefront of the industry, combining decades of expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver precision, quality, and adaptability to an ever-evolving market. THE CFI ADVANTAGE Custom Finishers was established in 1976 to supply the furniture industry with thin woodgrain printed hardboard (Masonite) back panels accurately matched in color and grain pattern to the customers spray finished wood. Today, 40 years later, we provide engineering, complex fabrication, painting and woodgrain printing on MDF, hardboard and other wood composites. We have embraced technology with CNC machinery (routers, lasers and saws), and high solids water based and UV cured coatings. Custom Air Trays

Custom Air Trays opened its doors for business in 1992. What started as a suggestion from a close friend in the body removal business has grown to a nationally known manufacturer of high-quality air trays and cremation related products. The company started in a very small building in Portsmouth, Virginia- so small that we didn’t even have inside plumbing. The original owners’ idea and dream was to have a company that put the customer first and make the best trays available at a competitive price. That philosophy continues today and is the key to our success at Custom Air Trays. As business grew it became apparent that additional space was needed. A move to nearby Virginia Beach provided room for growth… it also had nice bathrooms! Over the years a warehouse was added that allowed finished product to be stocked. “Same day shipping is the Rule, not the Exception” became the new slogan and added benefit for our customers. In 1998 one of the original owners decided to sell his interest to a group from North Carolina who were long-time suppliers and close friends. This added a new dimension to Custom Air Trays as the new owners brought an extensive background in the corrugated industry, a large part of the raw materials used in air tray production. Their cremation container designed in 1995 with leak proof corners and moisture resistant coating is now one of Custom Air Tray’s best selling cremation containers and an industry standard. September of 2003 brought a hurricane to Virginia Beach, which hastened our move to our current location of High Point, NC. This provided us more room for growth and better access to raw materials and freight carriers used to move the product to the customer. We have added new product design and better efficient manufacturing and are now very well positioned as Custom Air Trays prepares to celebrate our upcoming 20th year anniversary! Jim Hardy is one of the owners and serves as General Manager handling the day-to-day operations. Our team is very talented and experienced, led by Office Manager Janine Acuff and Plant Manager Lander Jackson. We are all dedicated to creating happy customers! Custom Air Trays has recently redesigned our website offering a user-friendly way to place orders via the Internet. Customers can check prices and get total costs for their orders including freight cost, instantly. We service customers through out the US from locations in North Carolina, Texas and Virginia. These additional “mini plants” allow us to offer our products and great service at a competitive price while reducing delivery time and cost. Custom Air Trays produces a wide variety of laboratory tested, IPPC registered and approved air trays and combination units. Many sizes are in stock and custom sizes can be quickly built if necessary. We also have three different styles of cremation
