Calico Life Sciences
Calico (Calico Life Sciences LLC) is an Alphabet-founded research and development company whose mission is to harness advanced technologies and model systems to increase our understanding of the biology that controls human aging. Calico will use that knowledge to devise interventions that enable people to lead longer, healthier lives. Our development programs are focused on identifying new targets — areas of biology not widely pursued by others — based on our evolving insights into the mechanisms that drive decline in health over time. In nephrology, Calico and AbbVie are evaluating ABBV-CLS-628, an investigational human monoclonal antibody that inhibits PAPP-A, in a Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT06902558) for Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). By modulating IGF signaling, ABBV-CLS-628 aims to slow disease progression in a disorder lacking targeted treatment options. The ongoing Phase 2 study is now enrolling across approximately 100 sites globally.
