TrusTrue Bioscience is a biotech company spun out from Dr. Yun-Ru (Ruby) Chen’s laboratory at the Genomics Research Center, Academia Sinica. TDP-43 is a key pathological protein found in over 95% of ALS, 50% of FTD, and 30–57% of AD cases. ALS is a rare, fatal, and rapidly progressing disease with no effective treatments available. Preclinical studies have shown that TrusTrue’s antibody candidate can improve motor function, preserve motor neurons and neuromuscular junctions, and reduce neuroinflammation in ALS mouse models. These findings support the potential of this antibody as a platform therapy for multiple TDP-43 proteinopathies.
