MAS America Inc
Founded in 2006, “MAS Maschinen- und Anlagenbau Schulz GmbH” stands for unconventional but already well-proven extrusion solutions for the compounding and recycling of plastics. The heart of the MAS-technology is the conical twin-screw extruder with co-rotating screws. Compared to conventional twin-screw extruders with parallel screws, they offer a number of advantages, in particular a gentler plasticizing and a good homogenization with at a very uniform melt pressure and high throughput. These properties provide high application benefits both for compounding virgin plastic and the recycling of post-consumer materials, especially materials with low bulk density. The MAS extruders are currently available in six sizes with a plasticizing capacity ranging from 10 to more than 2,000 kg/h. High performance melt-filtration and recyclate cleaning systems The CDF (Continuous Disc Filter) series developed by MAS is one of the industry’s most efficient melt filtration systems. It is available in four sizes with flow capacities from 300 to 4000 kg/h and filtration grades from 90 to 750 μm. Another MAS technology highlight is the waterless cleaning system for film flakes. Their key process components are motor driven rotor fans, which force the flakes in a turbulent hot air flow that evaporates adhering moisture. Simultaneously granular and powdery substances also dissolve from the flakes and are removed tangentially by centrifugal force. The DRD (Double Rotary Disc) dryers are used as line components in recycling plants.
