A family-owned company, VEGA employs over 5,000 people worldwide, over 500 of whom are with VEGA Americas. | VEGA offers a comprehensive range of measurement solutions for level, pressure, density, and weight. Our products serve diverse industries such as energy, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and more. With innovations like the VEGAPULS 6X, we’re committed to delivering high-quality, technologically advanced solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. We believe in providing exceptional service and value while staying at the forefront of technological advancements in instrumentation. | Every year, more than half a million sensors leave VEGA Grieshaber KG. Each one provides a reliable solution to a challenging measurement problem somewhere in the world. High vessels, temperatures or pressure. Every industry places its own specific requirements on the measurement technology it uses. VEGA’s portfolio includes, among other things, level sensors and pressure sensors for chemical and pharmaceutical plants, the food industry as well as drinking water supply systems, metal extraction, sewage treatment plants and power generation stations. | Since 1950, VEGA Americas, Inc. has always stood for innovative measurement technology. In 2011, the Cincinnati, Ohio based company was acquired by VEGA Grieshaber KG, a leading process instrumentation company based in Germany. VEGA Americas, Inc. started with a visionary founder, Philip Ohmart, who started the company in Cincinnati in 1950, under his own name. “Ohmart” quickly became the specialist in radiation-based instrumentation for level and density measurement in America. Across the ocean in Germany, in 1959, Bruno Grieshaber founded a similar innovative measurement technology company: VEGA Grieshaber KG. Within just a couple of years, this Black Forest company began specializing in the development and production of sensors for measurement of level, point level, and pressure. Throughout the years, VEGA has been dedicated to developing and improving different measuring techniques and has widely been considered the global technology leader in radar since 1997. A partnership between the two companies began around the same time. Ohmart manufactured VEGA-licensed products in North America to offer its customers reliable, consistent measurements. In turn, VEGA increased its knowledge pool from Ohmart’s expertise in radiation-based technology. In 1999, the German company acquired a 50 percent stake in its American partner, who then changed its name to Ohmart/VEGA. Over ten years later, Ohmart became a 100 percent subsidiary of VEGA and has been known as VEGA Americas ever since. | For more than 70 years, VEGA Americas, Inc. has provided industry-leading products for the measurement of level, pressure, and density. VEGAPULS 6X is built according to the needs of the application, ensuring users receive the precise, reliable, and easy-to-use sensor that’s right for them. Mining & cement customers are already using VEGAPULS 6X in such level applications as lime and ore silos, crushers, torpedo cars, and blast furnaces. THE 6X® is able to make reliable measurements even in the type of high temperature applications common in mining, and because it does not contact the process, it’s virtually maintenance-free. The future of instrumentation lies in the ability to produce high-quality products that keep pace with technological advancements and to provide service and value to one’s customers in a competitive environment.
