Composite Access Products

Composite Access Products, L.P. (CAP) is USA based company molding and assembling products in our facility located at 5216 N. 26thSt., McAllen, Texas78504. CAP is a manufacturer of traffic-rated (HS-25), 100K lb.+ load capacity, composite manhole covers and frames made of thermosetting resins mixed with fiberglass and additives. We are the first–and only–US company to mold traffic-rated covers with a compression molding process applying tons of pressure and high temperature to initiate and bring the raw material compound into its final, cured, solid condition in about 15 minutes. CAP covers can be made with customized city logos and texts, come in various colors, have deterring messages to thieves, seals to prevent infiltration, they are high strength, affordable and MADE IN THE USA. At current production efficiencies, capital resources, and available capacity, CAP can produce at a rate of several hundred cover and frame assemblies each month. We require 2-3-week lead times for any production orders of non- standard covers, and for custom logos we require 6 weeks for the first order to create the graphic mold plates. After this first order, the lead time returns to 2-3 weeks | Composite Manhole Covers/Frames/ Riser Rings | Rainwater, snowmelt, tidal rise, and drainage backflow often infiltrate sanitary sewer systems (I&I), overwhelming their limited capacity. Unlike storm systems, sanitary sewers carry waste and chemicals, so excess inflow causes sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs), releasing untreated sewage into streets and waterways. SSOs are a leading cause of water pollution—over 32 trillion gallons annually—and burden cities with EPA fines, higher treatment and pumping costs, and the expense of overbuilt plants. Composite manhole covers address this by offering a watertight, corrosion-resistant fit. Precision compression molding ensures consistent cover-frame sealing, unlike iron, which corrodes and loosens over time. Municipalities such as Fulton County, GA have eliminated spills and reduced pump run times by 50% with composite covers, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars annually while improving odor retention. Smart composite covers further enhance system performance with embedded sensors that measure fluid levels and transmit real-time data without interference, unlike iron covers that block signals. This enables early overflow warnings, accurate detection of inflow points, and targeted maintenance. Composites are also lighter, safer to handle, and resistant to sewer gas corrosion, eliminating the need for toxic coatings, heavy equipment, or hazardous sledgehammer dislodging. With added benefits such as sustainability, theft resistance, ease of installation, and the ability to integrate RFID and monitoring technologies, composite manhole covers provide municipalities with a cost-effective, modern solution to prevent pollution, lower operating costs, and improve public and worker safety.
