Rare Kidney Disease Foundation
The Rare Kidney Disease Foundation (RKDF) is a patient-driven, patient-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to HALTING the devastating impacts of Autosomal Dominant Tubulointerstitial Kidney Disease (ADTKD), across generations by supporting physician-researchers in their quest to find a treatment and, eventually, a cure. We are all volunteers who have ADTKD-UMOD or ADTKD-MUC1, or have a family member with ADTKD.RKDF encourages patients whose chronic kidney disease runs in the family to obtain genetic testing and join the International ADTKD Registry at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine to improve our understanding of these inherited kidney diseases and to generate a patient pool for an upcoming clinical trial of promising treatments. Every patient who undergoes genetic testing and joins the registry brings our research partners one step closer to finding a treatment — and eventually, a cure — for ADTKD.
