Altena Engineering
Altena Engineering LLC manufactures, sells, and installs the JetVac-01 CMPAF Removal skid designed for the “One Hole Method” of brain and spinal cord (SRM) removal in older cow carcasses. This procedure is quick and easy, adhering to the BSE requirements for the rendering process. The procedure when employed by the operator, simply drills one hole in the head of the carcass. Then employs the high-volume vacuum nozzle to remove the brain from the skull of the carcass and proceeds to evacuate the spinal cord by using the high-pressure, hot water, Jetter, flushing the spinal cord back to the vacuum nozzle. The process can be done in minutes by the operator. This process leaves no material for cleanup. The One Hole Method uses only a hole saw and the Vacuum nozzle, eliminating the knives, saws, guillotine and air pressure used in other systems. The carcasses can lay flat on the production line floor, instead of having to be hung on a rail. The head remains with the carcass eliminating the need to track the head and carcass. The obex can be removed through the hole drilled in the skull of the carcass.
