Vortex Space Systems (VSS) is a veteran owned small business in Montgomery County, Maryland. VSS is developing an advanced propellantless space propulsion system, called CAM drive. Once CAM drive completes commercial qualification testing in 2027, it can be integrated onto US Space Force missions to protect our national defense interests and provide orbit transfer capability for Earth Observing platforms. With an NSF 2024 SBIR grant (#2233424), CAM drive studied orbital active debris removal, analysis showing 35 times operational advantage over propellant driven orbital debris transfer. Currently, VSS is developing Minimum Viable Product (MVP) CAM drives based on NSF study using STEM engineering interns from University of Maryland. VSS built MVP prototypes for the StarVoyager project and has succeeded in assembly and test of three prototypes for the commercial protoflight. CAM drive is scalable with size and power, showing 11 times greater operational performance. Prototypes are displayed at VSS Booth 929.
Stellerian
Stellerian builds onboard autonomy for space missions, enabling satellites to detect, identify, track, and navigate relative to other objects without ground intervention. Our flagship product is a compact vision and compute module plus a flight software stack that delivers real time object tracking, relative pose estimation, and closed loop rendezvous and proximity operations. ACECam fuses neural networks with deterministic vision, navigation filters, and guidance and control to generate robust state estimates from star trackers and optical cameras, even for uncooperative targets. We provide mission ready software licenses, hardware integration kits, and simulation and synthetic data pipelines that accelerate model training, verification, and operator confidence. The same autonomy layer supports satellite servicing, inspection, collision avoidance, and proliferated space domain awareness across LEO, GEO, and cislunar environments.
Spaceit
Founded in 2015, Spaceit specializes in software solutions for satellite operations and space cybersecurity. Spaceit’s core products include: 1. Mission Operations Platform: For satellite command and control, including telemetry and telecommand (TMTC), binary data exchange, payload data delivery, orbit and contact prediction, contact management. The platform offers near-real-time connectivity by integrating with a variety of radio and optical ground stations, ensuring seamless mission operations and communication. 2. Space Cyber Range: A virtual platform developed in cooperation with ESA that simulates space environments and threats, including GNSS jamming and DoS attacks. This enables comprehensive testing, validation of space technologies, and advanced training exercises. In addition to software solutions, Spaceit operates OPS-SAT ORIOLE, a 16U satellite mission backed by ESA, set to launch in 2027. The mission will feature an IOD of a hybrid optical telecommunication and thermal infrared camera as primary payload.
