After a decade of bio-materials engineering research at U.C. Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Calyx was spun out with the mission to apply advanced bio-materials to low-cost power-efficient sensors for the detection and characterization of airborne chemical compounds. Calyx is a deep-tech company developed advanced sensors and computer vision technology for animal growth monitoring. Calyx has patented a whole new paradigm in sensors, using engineered proteins to detect gases. Our bio-sensors are accurate and durable, and can detect a wide variety of compounds.
