Steel Joist Institute
The Steel Joist Institute (SJI), a nonprofit organization of active joist manufacturers and other organizations and companies connected to the industry, was founded in 1928 to address the need for uniform joist standards within the industry. Today, the Institute continues to maintain the standards for steel joist construction.
