Laurie River Lodge

The Fishing:Centuries ago glaciers filled thousands of lakes in northern Manitoba with runoff water as they receded to the North. As the lakes overflowed a river began to cut a path between them and the Laurie River was born. Today this slow flowing tributary to the mighty Churchill River provides sport fishermen from around the world with some of the finest Northern Pike, Walleye and Lake Trout found anywhere on earth.Strategically located in the heart of the finest Pike and Walleye habitat Manitoba (perhaps the entire world) has to offer, McGavock Lake and Laurie River Lodge provide sport fishermen a perfect place to base their quest for the prized Trophy Northern Pike, abundant Walleye and huge Lake Trout.American Plan:Laurie River Lodge guests reside in one of 6 contemporary lakeside cabins. Each of these well appointed, completely modern cabins is designed to keep our fishermen warm, dry and comfortable during their non-fishing times. Private bedrooms with cozy beds, 3 piece bathrooms, warm carpeted floors, 110 volt electricity and large decks with a view of McGavock Lake are all part of what makes Laurie River Lodge one of the most popular fly-in fishing destinations in northern Manitoba. Our skilled cleaning staff provides daily maid service ensuring that you return to a clean comfortable well stocked cabin at the end of each day of fabulous fishing. Our Guides:We employee 16 professional Guides. These competent individuals spend their summers perfecting the art of catching trophy Northern Pike, Walleye and Lake Trout. They all have an intimate knowledge of the local area and all excellent boat handlers, cooks and story tellers. The Food:Hearty breakfasts and 5 course gourmet dinners are served daily in the main lodge and our guides cook your fresh caught Walleye over an open fire for lunch on the lake everyday at noon. From the Prime Standing Rib Roast with twice baked potatoes to Tequila Lime Chicken, our menu reflects the tastes of a refined palate but provides portions big enough to satisfy even the hungriest fisherman.Outpost Plan:In addition to being one of the most beautiful lakes in northern Manitoba, Kamuchawie has also earned the reputation of one of the most productive Northern Pike and Lake Trout fisheries in the northern half of the province. The remarkable combination of shallow water bays and sharp drop-offs intersected by several open water reefs and islands create a breathtaking combination of beauty and prime habitat. The addition of Secret Lake, a portage off the West side of Kamuchawie, adds a truly remarkable Walleye Fishery to our outpost package. Now our camp on Kamuchawie Lake has everything. If you are looking for a truly remarkable Northern Pike, Lake Trout & Walleye fishery, Kamuchawie has just what you are looking for.
