If you are molding PSU and are concerned about or having issues with Sulphidation then our Zeiger High Corrosion and Wear (ZHCW 20) offering is just what you are looking for. We use a 20% Chrome bearing PM Stainless Tool Steel in the construction of the screw, non-return valve, end cap, and nozzle body which stops the Sulphidation phenomena. While many molders are molding glass-filled (GF) materials, more and more automotive and electrical applications are requiring the resin to have a Halogen Free Fire Retardant (HFFR) in it as well. Due to the higher temperatures involved in molding these GF HFFR materials, both corrosive and abrasive attack (wear) present themselves in as little as 28 hours – 3 weeks. We have developed both designs and material combinations to stop these problems and customers are now switching across the board to HFFR Optimized screw, valve, and front-end part designs.
