Terra Guitar – Where Earth Meets Artistry We merge artistry and sound, delivering multi-layered wooden electric guitars that are not just instruments but masterpieces in their own right. Terra Guitar is a small company owned and operated by Jae Calderon in Covina, Ca. Jae has always had a love for the fine arts. In high school he took drama classes, and became a member of the International Thespian Society. In college, he began learning his craft by working as a theatre technician which led him to become a master carpenter and certified wielder. Early on in his career he built sets for various events including the Emmys, Grammys, and Sundance Film Festival. After sometime working events, he decided that he wanted to give back and follow in the footsteps of his mentor. He pivoted into academia and became an adjunct professor teaching students scenic design and carpentry in college. Still wanting to work with his hands and say in academia, Jae decided that his next step would be working as a Technical Director at a different university, overseeing four theatres and three scenic workshops. Jae’s knowledge of carpentry and eye for design is what led him to the eventual prototype for Terra Guitar, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Jae had to refine his work time and time again. Finally, he designed and created his first working guitar, the prototype for Earth, Wind, and Fire. The positive response he got from the guitar community, family, and friends encouraged him to pursue guitar making as a career, and so Terra Guitar was born. He is eager to continue this new found passion, and is looking forward for what’s to come.
