Web Industries’ precision formatting, outsource manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain services minimize cost variability while maximizing material usability. Simplifying the economics of utilizing composites by reducing risks and improving outcomes, we help our customers reach their key competitiveness and environmental objectives while protecting their bottom line from development to delivery. Web Industries formats composites and other high-value materials to drive innovation through the lightweighting of aircraft and launch systems. Bringing together unmatched flight-proven scale, aerospace-grade quality systems, and a global footprint, we become a natural extension of our customers’ workflow that drives value, mitigates risk, and creates production efficiencies. We work with OEMs and tiered suppliers to evaluate composites and develop optimized, economically viable formatting processes at commercial-scale volumes. Having spent a half-century processing, manufacturing, and innovating with flexible materials, we have more experience formatting composites than anyone else. We practically defined specific aerospace standards that made the current generation of commercial aircraft possible, and we’re inventing the technologies of tomorrow that will reduce waste and improve the buy-to-fly ratio of aircraft currently being designed. The world’s top companies trust Web to bridge capability gaps and accelerate their go-to-market success. They appreciate how we collaboratively address product and process challenges. They value our ability to make them more productive and profitable. And with multiple facilities in both the U.S. and Europe, we’re where we need to be to support them every day. When you work with Web, you’re working with a partner, not a supplier.

Temper Inc.
Temper develops next generation material processing equipment and tooling, that is capable of processing materials faster and at more accurate temperatures than existing processing methods. These magnetic fields are used either directly or indirectly to process these materials. As an indirect material processing method, these magnetic fields consolidate and/ or mold parts by coupling into the tooling surfaces, that enable them to heat at 1000 deg F/minute and cool at 200 deg / minute. To date, we have demonstrated: * Thermoplastic carbon fiber materials can be rapidly produced in tape, fiber weave, or chopped to temperatures as high as 790 deg F, in minutes (not hours). Process is capable of temperatures of 1000 deg F, holding temperatures of +/- 10 deg F. * Titanium powder can be densified using solid to solid phase transformation at 1700 deg F, in a die cavity using material rejected from the 3D printing industry because of its grain size into 99.99 percent dense parts in minutes * We have proven that materials that are thought to be unformable steels such as High Hard Armor, can be formed into shapes with interior bend radiuses as small as 3T. * Thermoset carbon fiber materials, can be debulked out of the autoclave, to +/- 6 deg F, in 1/10 the time as conventional process. (170 deg F) * Thermoset carbon fiber materials, can be co-consolidated / adhesively bonded in complex shapes. (250 to 480 deg F) * Thermoplastic carbon fiber materials can be co-consolidated. * Aluminum and Magnesium sheet material can have its material properties in strength (+ 100%) and stiffness (+50%) at the same time.
