In May 1971 Ron Tamlyn, Sr. and his wife Jean borrowed $800 and began the company in a small shack in the back yard of their modest home in Bellaire, Texas. Ron Tamlyn, Sr. was the company’s president from 1971 until his son, Tom Tamlyn, took the reins as president in 1990.
