RSPCA is non-profit making farm animal welfare scheme, that promotes improved animal welfare on farms, during transport and at the abattoir. The judges, who included vets, academics, livestock consultants and representative from the trade press commented on the Easyload™ system as “having the potential to have a huge impact on the industry”. ​ After CO2 was approved for stunning, Anglia Autoflow developed 5 stage Control Atmosphere Stunning that just used this gas. Birds in drawers smoothly transfer through this system, calmly pass into unconsciousness and remain in this state throughout the hanging and kill process. This eliminates bird stress, releases of adrenaline in the blood and significantly increases the quality of meat. The gas injection and transfer of birds through the CAS systems is automatically controlled and adjusted to suit the bird and line throughput.
