Cimmi and Paul Cumes are the mom and dad co-founders of Cimmikids LLC, a company born in the family friendly beach town of Carpinteria, California. For over 20 years, toy designer Cimmi Cumes has shaped play for global companies, creating countless products for iconic brands like Hannah Montana, Baby Alive, My Little Pony, and Cabbage Patch Kids. Paul is a professional artist and oil painter whose bold, intuitive style and deep passion for nature infuse every creation they bring to life together. Inspired by a lifelong love for the sea and a shared conviction that play can inspire real change, the couple is launching their first brand: Seaglimmers™ in Fall 2026. Seaglimmers is a new mermaid world for kids 10m–6 focused on nurturing play—featuring the first nursing mermaid Mama doll (with a patented breastfeeding function), a soft and colorful plush family of dolls, reversible mermaid wraps for kids to “become a Seaglimmer” and mermaid storybooks. The dolls are made with GRS-certified recycled fabrics and we support ocean conservation through our partnership with 1% for the Planet. Their dream is to help the next generation fall in love with nature—so that they’ll protect it. Drawing on their combined expertise, artistry, and heartfelt commitment, Cimmi and Paul pour care into every detail, making ocean stewardship feel fun, accessible, and playful.
