The staff of more than 3,200 specializes in the creation and transfer of technology in engineering and the physical sciences. Over decades, SwRI has grown from a single building to more than two million square feet of laboratories, workshops, test facilities, and offices, occupying more than 1,500 acres. For more than four decades, SwRI has provided expert robotics R&D support across the full spectrum of robot types, markets, and applications, including manipulator integration and application development, custom robot and end effector design and fabrication, human-machine cooperation, and autonomous mobile robots. SwRI curates the Robot Operating System-Industrial (ROS-I) open-source project, which is a global robotics research initiative steered by a consortium. The project creates software capabilities and applications for the industry based on open-source building blocks. Operating as a nonprofit since its foundation in 1947, SwRI works in the public’s best interest and toward the betterment of humanity. SwRI® is a nonprofit, contract R&D organization with more than 70 years of experience in food-related sciences, including microencapsulation and nanoencapsulation technologies. SwRI specializes in formulation and process development, offering dozens of encapsulation techniques capable of preparing capsules from nanometers to millimeters. Additional food-related capabilities available at SwRI include nanomaterials, antimicrobial materials, analytical chemistry, testing and failure analysis, materials engineering for food applications, and manufacturing systems. When we say we’re solving today’s problems with tomorrow’s technology, we mean it. Visit us at Futures Park and experience our revolutionized ENABLE® markerless motion capture system. With enhanced speed and compatibility, ENABLE now integrates with other animation software platforms, simplifying your workflow. Our upgraded technology surpasses traditional motion capture methods, allowing for non-invasive, accurate, and efficient analysis of human movement outside the lab. Visit our booth for live demonstrations, and let's discuss how we can collaborate and create custom solutions tailored to your needs using our cutting-edge motion capture technology. Southwest Research Institute® (SwRI®) is a premier independent, nonprofit research and development organization. We offer multidisciplinary services leveraging advanced science and applied technologies.
