About
About Hong Kong Baptist University: Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research Hong Kong Baptist College was founded by the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong in 1956. In 1983, it became a fully funded public tertiary institution, and the College gained university status just over a decade later. It was renamed Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) in 1994. The Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research (ITPR) within HKBU serves to drive innovations, research and development, technology translation, and applications to enable HKBU to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities globally, nationally, as well as those under the aegis of the Hong Kong SAR Government’s top policy priority on innovation and technology development. ITPR strives to bridge the gap in technology readiness between academic innovation and industry applications. ITPR also helps to advance HKBU’s innovation capacity and enhance up- to mid-stream research and technology development capabilities through establishing collaborative platforms, engaging stakeholders, facilitating high-impact innovation and multidisciplinary R&D.
