About Fimic SRL FIMIC specialises in the production of automatic and continuous melt filters as well as screw pumps for the plastic recycling industry. It manufactures five types of automatic melt filters for efficient and continuous recycling of contaminated plastics without the need for any operator’s intervention. FIMIC entered the plastic recycling industry over 50 years ago with the production of guillotines, which remain part of the Company’s products portfolio. FIMIC has been known for 25 years as the specialists in automatic self-cleaning melt filters. We are the only company in the market with a range of 5 different models of automatic melt filters, capable to target highly contaminated plastic materials, especially post-industrial and post-consumer plastics. Our filtration technologies offers all possible filtrations and covers the many different existing applications to guarantee high results and a very high quality of the final material. The FIMIC Filter Range FIMIC offers a specialized lineup of melt filters engineered to manage diverse contamination levels, throughput requirements, and end-product specifications. 1. RAS The RAS is the most versatile and widely adopted model in the FIMIC portfolio. It is specifically designed to process high levels of contamination—such as paper, wood, aluminum, and unmelted plastics—across a broad range of polymers including LDPE, HDPE, PP, and PS. 2. ERA (Dual Filtration) The ERA is FIMIC’s automatic screen changer designed for sequential double filtration. Featuring two independent chambers and an integrated self-cleaning system, it processes heavily contaminated plastics while ensuring production continuity and high-purity output. As the natural evolution of the flagship RAS model, the ERA is the ideal high-performance solution for operators seeking high flow rates and rigorous quality control in a non-stop operation. By performing a double filtration process within a single machine, it delivers maximum pellet purity, lower energy consumption, and reduced waste—eliminating the need for two separate filtration units. 3. GEM (Large Surface Filtration) The GEM is an automatic filter changer designed for high-volume production requiring an expanded filtration surface. Even when handling extremely contaminated materials, the GEM utilizes only two filter meshes to deliver superior performance. By combining proven RAS technology with the power of the ERA’s dual-chamber system, the GEM guarantees operational continuity and material purity. With two parallel, independent chambers, this "tough, precise, and tireless" system is built for the most demanding industrial scales. 4. FCS (Active Cleaning System) The FCS is FIMIC’s innovative active cleaning system, engineered to remove stubborn, adhesive contaminants from within the scraper. Utilizing a dedicated mechanical piston, it cleans the internal channels in seconds and discharges residues through a front valve. This automated solution prolongs the lifespan of the filter mesh and maintains consistent machine performance. It is ideal for processors handling difficult materials who want to minimize manual intervention, reduce downtime, and optimize component longevity. 5. RPS The RPS is an automatic filter changer designed to maintain a perfectly stable operating pressure, even when processing challenging, highly contaminated materials. This stability is achieved through an innovative continuous discharge screw system working in synergy with a forced-feed cylinder. Together, they keep the scraper channels clear and minimize residue buildup. Perfect for high-productivity environments, the RPS ensures constant flow and peak efficiency throughout prolonged production cycles.
