BDO’s Biodefense and Government Contracting team affords the life sciences industry a broad range of support to navigate the non-dilutive funding process. This includes strategic guidance to include alignment with federal and/or Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) priorities, technical advisement, project management, financial management and compliance services across the medical countermeasure award lifecycle. Our team has a wealth of experience leading strategic partnerships between pharma/biotech companies and funding sources including early and late-stage medical countermeasure development, procurement and expansion of domestic industrial production capacity (e.g. DPA, IBx). Within the field of domestic health research, we have supported client partnerships with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), as well as engagements with NIH’s Division of Financial Advisory Services (DFAS), the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), and programs in the field of global health research (e.g. Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation).
